The SDMA Division (Mineral & Land-Use Planning Projects), the comprehensive mineral waste management expert.
The SDMA Division comprises six sites recognised as installations classified for the protection of the environment. Every year, it receives over a million tonnes of authorised waste in strict compliance with the regulations in force.
This waste is final hazardous mineral waste including that containing asbestos, lead paint, or reinforced natural radioactive waste, as well as non-hazardous waste or inert waste for land-use planning projects
The SDMA Division has a multi-process offer and guarantees secure management according to the intrinsic characteristics of the waste
INERT WASTE RECOVERY MATERIALS AND LAND
Materials production
• Recycling of building materials for reuse
• Recovery of minerals extracted from our lockers
• Upgrading of the physical or biological properties of soils (liming, production of topsoil)
Land-use planning
• Support for local stakeholders in their infrastructure projects
• Development of new uses on our sites in post-operatio
FINAL MINERAL WASTE* NEUTRALISE AND CONTAIN POLLUTANTS
Stabilisation before landfilling
Final hazardous mineral waste exceeding certain physicochemical thresholds for acceptance for landfilling need to be stabilised before landfilling. This pollutant neutralisation and containment process is a mandatory regulatory step before waste can be landfilled in a hazardous waste compartment.
Direct landfilling
Final hazardous mineral waste not requiring stabilisation is transferred directly to landfill hazardous waste compartments dedicated to hazardous waste. They are contained in cells with sealing levels guaranteeing long-term protection of the environment.
* smoke purification residues, free asbestos, bound asbestos, metal hydroxide sludge, etc.
NON-HAZARDOUS WASTE CONTAIN POLLUTANTS
Direct landfilling
Non-hazardous waste is transferred directly to landfill hazardous waste compartments dedicated to non-hazardous waste
